Print, Web, Magazine, Books
I write books and feature articles for Australian magazines in the biography, travel, tourism and small business space, but not confined to these.
Additionally, I ghost write and edit books and articles for other people. My services are ideal for private individuals, consultants or small business owners writing a book or piece of material they want to self-publish.
If you do not have the advantage of an editor appointed for you by a mainstream publisher, you can most certainly benefit from the expertise of an experienced ghost writer / editor and so can your work.
Examples of books and other material I have edited and helped to produce includes:
A Place in the Stockyard: celebrating Tasmanian Women in Agriculture. A commissioned piece resulting in a coffee table book documenting the achievements of this significant community group, and commemorating their 20th anniversary. Historical and social documentary, plus feature article style biographies of individual members.
Broads Abroad: Worldly Wise a series of travel stories based on the experiences of members of an online travel network, a highly creative and colourful work.
A coffee table book celebrating the life and work of a major British fashion designer.
A self-help book for boys and their parents, and accompanying workshop material.
Right First Time: a business owners Human Resources manual delivering industry advice and documentation on HR procedures, with an emphasis on readability, and including creative articles and case studies.
Blog posts for an #HR, industry consultant and social media influencer, working on material by the business owner and contributors.
Web content for multiple small businesses, including Farmgate Festival Tasmania at www.farmgatefestival.net.au
Twenty plus years experience across many sectors - including corporate, academia, small business and advertising makes me versatile. I deliver accurate, engaging copy that does not need sub-editing to deadline.
I work from home in Tasmania, and can service clients across Australia or globally.
My own book is under contract to major international publisher Unbound, based in the UK. In 2017 I am crowdfunding from their platform for my travel memoir Apple Island Wife: Escape to Tasmania - publication due mid-2018. I am contracted for a sequel, Saddleback Wife: the Unexpected Pig Farmer.
Besides writing and editing, I also run a small farm and gourmet food business with my husband, Langdale Farm, and am an organiser and Board member of Tasmanian government funded Farmgate Festival for which I provide marketing and social media.
Find me on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter as @appleislandwife or Fiona Stocker.
