Biographical Note

I live in New Zealand's capital city, Wellington, and have over 15 years' experience as a writer, editor, communications adviser, publications manager and website manager. I worked in the New Zealand public sector for six years writing and editing communications plans, media releases, speeches, reports, web content and other material. I now work freelance while studying photography and interior design part-time.

I've written content for several websites, including the BBC Drama and EastEnders websites in London, and write regularly for Suite101.com. I won my first writing competition at primary school with a short story about escaped zoo animals. I also won the DIVER magazine 40th anniversary writing competition with The Eel's Tale on the theme of diving and time.

I've written and directed a one-act play and am actively involved in non-profit theatre in Wellington.

I specialise in health, environment, conservation, photography and theatre, but am happy to consider writing or editing on any subject. I'm also a plain English expert. I'm originally from the UK and am equally conversant with British and New Zealand English.
