Biographical Note
Graduating in the 1970s, Sandra Cahir undertook a Diploma of Education after completing a Bachelor of Arts majoring in English and History at Monash University, Victoria, Australia.
After years of extensive practical experience teaching secondary English/ESL, drama, and creative writing, including as Head of English, Sandra moved to teaching in tertiary and community sectors. Coupled with these, her work in mental health education environments has enabled her to acquire a multi-dimensional approach to a variety of writing and editing opportunities. Such experience has led to her publication of text books for secondary English studies; a series of non-fiction books on Indigenous issues for primary students with low-level reading skills; various historical works; curriculum manuals for use in areas of mental health and learning disabilities, and experience in script-editing in the corporate sector. Additionally, Sandras work has been published in England and New Zealand. She has also used her training as a mediator to edit a mediation newsletter.
Sandra extends her writing, editing and researching skills to publications for her family-based boutique winery, to fiction and to historical works (including script and childrens book writing).
Sandras successful and lengthy experience in writing, editing and proofreading is due to her finely tuned skill of manipulating complex information to provide easily accessible materials. She applies her creative personality and ingenuity to her professional work, resulting in comprehensive material using a range of approaches.
Sandra has published with Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, Heinemann and Nelson.
