Biographical Note
Technical Writing: Rebecca has written for a variety of engineering, manufacturing, electronics, government and financial organisations. Projects have included installation, user and service manuals, technical requirements and specifications, technical procedures, style guides, executive reports and summaries, and a multi-million dollar RFT. Rebecca began work with a large international IT company based in Europe, where she spent about ten years producing numerous manuals for a variety of software products. The manuals were written for an international audience and Rebecca would manage translation and production for up to 15 countries. As a senior writer, she also helped to recruit and train new writers. She then moved into technical Product Management and spent about four years managing IT software development projects, often involving teams spread across several countries.

Science Writing: Rebecca specialises in translating scientific jargon into readable, engaging English and has worked for several academic and government organisations. Projects have included editing scientific papers, theses and business cases, and turning research publications into plain English for a non-scientific website. Rebecca has also written for Pathway (the magazine of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia) and occasionally writes freelance articles for publications such as The Listener, NZ Geographic, NZ Astronomical Yearbook and North & South. Rebecca has an Honours degree in Environmental Science and a Graduate Diploma of Science (Geology) and is particularly interested in the environment, earth sciences, astronomy and natural history. 
With her experience of the corporate world, her strong science background and many years experience as a technical and science communicator, Rebecca is able to offer a professional writing service in any of these areas.
