Biographical Note
An experienced journalist and a writer at heart. I am a correspondent with NDTV 24*7 since November 2007. I undertake freelance feature writing for www.mumbaikar.com. My previous experience includes 5 years as correspondent and news anchor with Aajtak and Headlines Today, both TV Today Network LTD. news channels. Special stories include coverage of the 26/11 Mumbai Terror Attack, investigation into violation of Bio-medical waste regulations by hospitals in Mumbai, series of stories on the 2008 Drought from Beed and Latur districts of Marathwada and stories on the Anti SEZ struggle in Raigarh district. I have produced special shows on Tamasha, the folk dance and theatre of Maharashtra, the life of the Tamazgeers and the dilution of art to keep the artists alive. Also a special series on forts and forgotten heritage precincts in Mumbai. My writing skills are varied. Television writing has given me the edge of brevity while being expressive. I enjoy writing for the web as the medium is highly interactive and challenges the writer in me to be at my communicative best. I completed my Masters Diploma in Mass Communication, Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication, Pune (Specializing in Journalism) in 2004. My multimedia skills include Avid Newscutter, Incite, Adobe Premier, Photoshop, Flash, Fireworks, Dreamweaver and QuarkExpress. I was born on June 15, 1981. Apart from English I am also proficient in Hindi and Marathi. I have been married for 3 years and live in Mumbai, India.
