Biographical Note
Steeped in language and literature since childhood by her librarian parents, Philippa has worked with words ever since writing for and editing her high school newspaper.

Qualifications

Philippa's writing includes articles on organics, genetic engineering, sustainable living, environmental issues, writer profiles, health and travel, plus book reviews. Other writing experience includes reports, submissions, media releases and advertising copy.

Philippa has editing, copy-editing, proofreading and indexing experience. She has worked on general and academic books, journals and magazines, policy documents and community newsletters. Clients include book and magazine publishers, individuals, and community organisations. She is a highly literate bibliophile with an eagle eye for spelling, grammar and punctuation mistakes.

Philippa is passionate about languages. She has studied German, Japanese, Maori and French, and has picked up smatterings of other languages. She spent two years travelling and working in Asia. Her love of ritual has led her to become a marriage and civil union celebrant.

For two and a half years Philippa travelled around New Zealand as a volunteer on the WWOOF scheme (Willing Workers on Organic Farms). She has written a book about her experiences: The Wild Green Yonder.
