Biographical Note
I have over 17 years of experience in various fields from journalism to building.

I started out my working life as a reporter with the Afrikaans daily newspaper BEELD in 1990. In 1994 I jumped into a freelance career with reckless abandon. Having completed a four year licentiate in speech and drama in 1991, I also ventured onto stage and screen.

Since then my work included writing and translating various technical documents, copy writing, scriptwriting - for both drama and technical/corporate videos, stage plays and magazine and newspaper articles.

Some of my more memorable projects were writing protocols for medical research, shortly after I translated and voiced a video script for farming equipment.

I broadened my technical knowledge and understanding by gaining some hands-on experience; first as a set builder and later I worked, part time, as a builder and carpenter. Some of my other work experience included acting, voice-overs, producing, directing, training voice artists and negotiating contracts for performers.

Being insatiably curious, my interests cover various subjects. I am equally happy doing serious cognitive work or standing up to my elbows in an engine. I will gladly hammer a bookshelf together and cook dinner afterwards. Sitting around and vegetating with a fishing rod in my hand, quite nicely offsets having spent hours concentrating and focussing on a writing project.
I have been living in New Zealand since May 2005.

• Marketing documents, brochures, pamphlets; and
• Scripts

Qualifications:
B.A. (Communications), with majors in Communications and Industrial Psychology (1988).
Licentiate in Speech and Drama (1991)
Certificate in Technical Communication (2007)

Member of the Technical Communicators Association of New Zealand (TCANZ)
