Biographical Note
Lizzie Williams specialises in general travel in Africa and the Middle East, and has written many guide books and websites. Originally from London but now based in Cape Town, she has travelled extensively and has visited 20 African countries. She is author of books on South Africa, Namibia, Kenya, Tanzania, Egypt, Turkey and Nigeria for a variety of publishers, and is author of Africa Overland, a souvenir coffee table book on the Kenya to Cape overland route. She has written www.overlandafrica.com a leading website on the overland industry in Africa, and contributed Africa destination guides to websites including www.travel.yahoo.com, www.tripz.com and www.worldtravelguide.net and provided content for websites for airlines and corporations. She has extensive working knowledge of the tourism industry in Africa, and has produced numerous product brochures, and has had travel articles in various in-flights and travel related magazines. Other freelance projects have included contributing to books about working abroad, and designing, organising and writing the script for a travel/dating TV show filmed in Turkey. Her commissions have been as varied as wildlife, geography, brochure blurbs, and book reviews.
