Biographical Note
Keith Westwater has been working as a management and organisation development consultant for eighteen years. During this time he has refined and applied his writing skills across a number of fields. His major written work for clients includes:
- strategic plans
- business plans
- service level agreements, memoranda of understanding and other documents of agreement
- a series of booklets designed to help businesses plan for earthquakes
- project reports on the development of open learning and a Tertiary Education Data Stocktake
- training needs analysis
- training packages, distance-learning packages, and e-learning packages
- NZQA unit standards for:
- the heating and ventilation sector of the engineering industry
- the liquid and hazardous waste industry- position descriptions, person specifications, competency profiles
- employment contracts and tender documents
- a guide to job analysis and job design
Keith's current clients include the Earthquake Commission (EQC), the Learning Design Group, the Ministry for Civil Defence and Emergency Management, the Ministry of Education, the Road Transport and Logistics Industry Training Organisation, The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand, and Wellington City Council.
Creative writing—poetry and non fiction prose—is an interest of Keith’s. Some of his work has been published in a broadsheet (On Track) and booklet (Sidelines), both about Matiu/Somes Island. He also has a work in progress: No One Home—a memoir of his childhood and time in the NZ Army as a boy soldier. He is an active member of two creative writing groups and has attended the following courses at Victoria University of Wellington’s International Institute of Modern Letters:
