Biographical Note
Katherine Ross trained as a journalist on a local paper in Northern Ireland in the late 1970s covering everything from "the troubles" to flower shows. Since then she has lived and worked in the UK, Ireland, Austria, Germany, Holland and now Australia. Her work has appeared in national papers, trade press and glossies. She was a reporter on a UK TV current affairs programme and, for a time, a partner in an industrial design firm with offices in Germany and the UK. She has considerable copy-editing experience and for seven years managed a UK university publishing department with an annual print budget of £500,000. In this role she also lectured to post graduate students on the mechanics of book publishing.

Katherine's writing style is lively, witty and insightful. She writes convincingly on a wide range of subjects. In addition she is able to turn complex and technical material into plain language. She is a committee member of the Society of Editors (Victoria). In her spare time Katherine flies a powered parachute and is studying for her MA (Writing) at Swinburne University of Technology. She is also a passionate cook and wine drinker with a particular interest in the wineries of the Yarra Valley.
