Biographical Note
I'm rather a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to the written word. I've been lucky to have a wide and varied career in journalism, working on everything from alternative weeklies to daily newspapers to business trade publications to magazines to Web sites and e-mail newsletters.

In the course of my career, I've covered everything from semiconductors and high-tech to medicine, the environment, college sports and city politics. I've shadowed a midwife as she made her rounds, helmed a U.S. Coast Guard ice breaker, rode shotgun in a C-130 military cargo plane, sat down to talk with former Black Panther leader Bobby Seale, and participated in live fire exercises with Northern Arizona firefighters. Had a ring-side seat for the dot-com bubble, and its ensuing ugly burst. Interviewed the CEO's of billion-dollar companies. Spent the entire month of October, 2005 running all over China, investigating its electronics industry and culture, and blogging about the experience while filing daily news stories. I even worked for a year at a public relations and advertising firm specializing in high-tech, and ghost-wrote a few articles for those aforementioned executives.

Along the way I managed to pick up a few other skills as well, such as photography, digital photography, HTML coding and various computer skills--always been a closet computer nerd--such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign and Dreamweaver. So if it's a ghost-written article or monograph you need, copy for your Web site, a feature story for your magazine, a news feature for your corporate publication or a contributed article for an industry trade pub, I'm your writer. I'll even be happy to supply some photos too--even if it means traveling to and traipsing about Timbuktu (I rather like traveling and traipsing, actually.)
