Hilary Pedersen BA History (Soc Sci)
I am an established Hawkes Bay journalist of more than 20 years experience and with a particular interest in the fields mentioned above.
Winner of the DomPost travel writer competition 2010 (300 word adventure story see published writings).
Currently contracted to Tararua District Council as part time media manager and am a features contributor to Cape and Bay magazine.
Commissioned to job share the centennial history of the Dannevirke Hunt.
In collaboration with Marina Sciascia I have produced 2 publications: ‘Hakui Mothers Of Porangahau’ 2004 and ‘Tuahine Sisters of Porangahau’ 2007. ‘Fathers And Sons’ in progress.
Am undertaking an Editors, Proofreaders and Publishing course with Business Institute New Zealand.
Personal Biography
I live by the Pacific Ocean at Porangahau, Central Hawke’s Bay. Owner operator of Purple Fish Accommodation and Purple Fish Gallery. I am an elected member of CHB District Council and a Waipukurau Rotarian.
I am widely travelled including Europe, Scandinavia and UK. Antarctic Peninsular (2004), Mongolia (2005 and 2007). Nepal for 2010.
