I am an award winning journalist and talented photographer with an extensive media and public relations background specialising in feature writing and reports, as well as converting technical jargon into plain English. I edited a country newspaper for more than 25 years before starting my own media and public relations.

I have more than 30 years experience working as a journalist and editor in NSW covering local, regional and national stories. I have also worked on assignments in South Africa, South East Asia, the Pacific and Middle East. I have won a number of NSW Country Press Awards including awards for Feature Writing, Local Government Reporting, Headline Writing and Local News Reporting.
In 2005 I started my own (Greg Conkey & Associates) media and public relations consultancy drawing on my extensive contacts within Local, State and Federal Government.
Clients have included licensed clubs, aged care institutions, employment agency, a large lifestyle village, state government departments, accountancy firm, a bank, medical practitioners and not for profit organisations. Their requirements have varied from writing and distributing press releases, tender writing, writing and designing newsletters and writing reports.
One project for a business agency involved working with more than 300 of their clients providing practical public relations and marketing advice.
I hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and have conducted numerous workshops on the media including how to write press releases as well as on public relations and marketing. I have also conducted numerous focus groups for various clients.
