Biographical Note
With more than 25 years of experience in marketing communication and magazine journalism, I specialize in “journalistic marketing” -- telling compelling true stories with a selling twist.
After earning a bachelor's in English and environmental science from Allegheny College and a master's in magazine journalism from Syracuse University, I gained early work experience as a technical writer and marketing copywriter for consulting engineers and software developers.
I became a freelance writer in 1989 to help professional service firms develop dynamic print materials. Over a six-year period, I wrote dozens of articles for trade and corporate magazines, helped launch five newsletters, and researched and wrote targeted marketing brochures.
In 1995, I joined EXPO magazine as editor-in-chief to report on the meeting and convention industry. I also wrote online content for EXPOweb.com, produced the magazine's first technology issue and developed a guide to industry Web sites.
Following my interest in the Web, I became a senior content developer for HNTB's Technology Group in 1997 to work on Web sites, interactive multimedia programs and digital video productions. I led development of two award-winning Web sites.
In February 1999, I relaunched CC-T Unlimited with an emphasis on writing and editing services for technology solution providers. Since then, I've delivered compelling content for more than 270 projects with 100+ people in 60 organizations.
I recently relocated to the Palm City / Stuart / Port St. Lucie area on Florida's Treasure Coast, just north of West Palm Beach. I am a member of the International Association of Business Communicators, the American Society of Journalists and Authors, and the Florida Public Relations Society.
