Biographical Note
A mountaineer for 20 years, Allan was inspired to write in an attempt to share experiences gained in some of the world's wildest places. He now specialises in off the beaten track, travel and adventure writing.
He is capable of producing stimulating and factually thorough articles that have a keen sense of "story". As a photographer with a "good eye" and a willingness to go to considerable lengths to obtain the necessary pictures, he can save time and money by supplying both text and images. His photographs have appeared in the New Zealand Geographic, Wilderness, New Zealand Outside Snow, Adventure and New Zealand Climber magazines.
He has been editor of New Zealand Outside Snow magazine for Lifestyle Publishing and editor of the Mt Aspiring guidebook (a climbing guide for mountaineers) for the New Zealand Alpine Club.
