Biographical Note

Liz Ardley is a creative all-rounder. She currently focuses on proofreading/editing/rewriting. With an MA in English Literature, a Diploma in Journalism and a Diploma in Secondary Teaching, Liz is well placed to produce professional, accurate work. She also has a Diploma in Teaching English as a Second Language and has a particular rapport with those who write English as a second language. Much of her recent work has been assisting post-graduate students with their theses, proofreading and editing for the research company of Auckland University, and general proofreading/rewriting and website writing for the Education Department—Auckland University.

Liz originally trained as a producer with Television New Zealand before moving on to scriptwriting for various film and video production houses and working with a women's video cooperative. She remained a freelance scriptwriter, journalist and copywriter until she became the media outreach person for an education centre involved in Aid and Development, set up by the government of New Zealand. Liz worked in the world of Aid and Development for several years before moving into English language teaching, firstly through realising the language needs of refugees in New Zealand and then through the enjoyment of international contact and the love of travel. There are few countries that Liz has not visited, and she has taught in Egypt, Thailand and Malawi.
