Biographical Note
Annie loves working with not only words but also grammar, structure, punctuation, spelling, fact-checking -- the endless minutia many writers loathe. 

She entered publishing in 1983 as an editorial assistant and freelance contributor to magazines and newspapers in Santa Cruz County, California. She earned a bachelor's degree in Politics in 1984 at UC Santa Cruz, then a master's degree in Mass Communication in 1988 at San Jose State. Full-time newswriting and frequent editing for Bay Area weeklies followed through 1995. 

In 2001 Annie founded icopyedit, a freelance copyediting and proofreading concern. Formal copyediting training was received hrough UC Berkeley Extension and editcetera. 

Annie has copyedited and proofread trade and textbooks for the university presses of Harvard, Columbia, Stanford, Oxford, and Cambridge, and for other publishers including Mary Ann Leibert Inc., Berrett-Koehler, RAND Corporation, Reed Elsevier, The New Press, Scarecrow Press, Anselm Academic, and Saint Mary's Press, among others.

Annie's writing (and editing) was published from 1988 through 1995 by Peninsula Community Newspapers and Metro Newspapers in Santa Clara County, California.
