Biographical Note
Annie loves working not only with words, but also with grammar, structure, punctuation, spelling, fact checking--the endless minutia many writers loathe.

She first entered publishing in 1983 as an editorial assistant and freelance contributor to magazines and newspapers in Santa Cruz County, California. After earning a bachelor's degree in Politics at UC Santa Cruz in 1984, Annie went on to earn a master's degree in Mass Communication at San Jose State in 1988.

Full-time newspaper reporting, and frequent stints as an editor followed through 1995.

In 2001 Annie founded icopyedit, a contract copyediting and proofreading concern. She has trained under Amy Einsohn, author of The Copyeditor's Handbook, and through UC Berkeley Extension.

Nonfiction trade books and academic texts are her forte. Publishing clients include Oxford University Press, Harvard University Press, Berrett-Koehler, RAND Corporation, Reed Elsevier, The New Press, Scarecrow Press, and The Paragon Agency.
